Today in Barcelona I saw a kid wearing an old school Larry Johnson Hornets jersey, a Suns Charles Barkley jersey, a Dodge Caliber, a PT Cruiser, and this glorious thing.
The other day I stupidly ate an an English style pub because it was the closest thing to me. It was filled with drunk and sunburnt English people and the burgers were fucking terrible. Since Catalunya seems to have a penchant for things American, I think I should move here and open up an Americam style micro brewery. The food will be much better than anything the English can squeeze out of their pasty little hands. I also came up with the idea that England should just apply for statehood. They really do have much more in common with America than Europe, and they have no problem following America into poorly thought out wars. They’ll also need the help of a big strong economy in the future.

I wonder how the Spanish are taking Brexit. On the one hand, no more Brits destroying their cities. On the other hand, no more Brits propping up what’s left of their economy.
Still from our point of view, we still have Gibraltar (and that ain’t changing) so I guess will can still take in that Spanish sun.

I’m in Catalunya where half the region doesn’t even want to be apart of Spain anymore, so I don’t think most people here care too much. Also, The Catalan economy pretty much keeps Spain afloat, so I think they’d be fine here without Brits. Catalunya has a deep routed Socialist and Anarchist history though.
I grew up in the hardcore and punk rock scene so I sympathize with the underground elements of the city, and they seem to want all tourists out. I can see where they’re coming from as I’ve watched the city change over the decade. It has lost a lot of its character as city officials pander to tourists. Not everyone needs money in order to be happy.
It's definitely an interesting time to be an American in Europe. I'll be in Paris next week for that shit show. Are Brits talking about the Falklands at all. I wonder what Argentina will do with this turmoil.

Oh it’s way more than half but Madrid are doing everything in their power to suppress a vote. Hence why Scotland has zero chance of entering the EU because Spain aren’t going to allow a precedent to be set. I feel for the people of Catalonia. They’ve been shouting into the wind for a long time and the wind is about to get stronger.

The Falklands belong to the islanders and that’s the end of it. There is literally nothing Argentina can do about it. Plus with the oil reserves turning out to be a dud, I reckon they will quiet down for now.

Spain is in an interesting spot because not only do they have Catalunya, but they have the Basque region as well, and those guys were blowin stuff up as late as 2009. The Spaniards are new to the whole “democracy” thing as well.

I saw a guy at music festival near Glasgow wearing a Brad Johnson Redskins jersey (in 2007). Which, ok I guess?

It seems the Scotland issue can be set up to make clear its not precedent for Spain. Basically by noting the special case where the UK wanted to leave Europe but Scotland didn’t. It is Spain’s interest to have Scotland in, so it seems like some deal can be reached (there would be a lot of pressure on Spain from elsewhere in the EU as well).
